The Ninth of AV – A Foreshadowing of the Church’s Future?

We hear a lot about cycles and patterns.  We don’t want to put God in a box, but does He work in cycles too?  Or do WE move in cycles and God then responds to how we respond to Him?  I believe God is not tied to anything.  He can do whatever He wants!  But still, it is very curious to know that we can see patterns arise in the Bible and people of faith throughout the years.

One of these patterns can be found in the Ninth of Av.  What is it?  It is a gloomy day in Jewish history!  It is very fascinating to look at.  You can read this short article to get a little background.

I bring this up because I recently viewed a video by Jacob Prasch, recorded on July 22, 2015.  The title of the message is The Ninth of Av. Jacob reviews some Jewish history and then links it to our modern day and what the future might hold for the church!

Interestingly, I read an article today that touches on some of the prophetic ministries that proclaimed where our country was headed.  Jacob also references some of these men of God.  You can read that article – click here.

I hope you enjoy the video.

If we still have electricity I’ll be watching too. Isn’t it somewhat morbidly tantalizing to consider we really could be less than two months away from anarchy. Very sobering, indeed. Thanks for the article Todd, and God bless, lights on or off.

“For amen I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot, or one tittle shall not pass of the law, till all be fulfilled.”

    John 19:28-30
Afterwards, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, said: I thirst….And bowing his head, he gave up the ghost.”

Once all the prophecies were fulfilled in Jesus, the Old Law was, as the plain language says, REPLACED, “MADE VOID,” “BLOTTED OUT,” “SET ASIDE,” “TAKEN AWAY,” “ANNULLED” and fulfilled in the NEW Covenant, the NEW Israel, the NEW Chosen People:
    Hebrews 7:18
    Hebrews 10:9
    Colossians 2:14
    Jeremias 31:31-32
    Malachias 2:8-12
    Hebrews 8:5-13
    Mark 7:7-9

An important sign that the Old Law is dead:
“And behold the veil of the temple was rent in two from the top even to the bottom, and the earth quaked, and the rocks were rent.” Matthew 27:51

Shemitah?… 9th of Av?…Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees Matthew 16:6

    The Old Law is dead.

What is the new Covenant? You will see it first mentioned in Jeremiah 31, which is quoted in Hebrews 8. It says that every man will know the Lord. That surely hasn’t happened yet. As believers we have a taste of it. The difference between the “Old Covenant and the New Covenant is that it is placed on the heart instead of stone.

      Matthew 5:18King James Version (KJV)

18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Jesus is coming again. Not everything is fulfilled. There will be a new heaven and a new earth at some point. Last time I checked, that hadn’t happened yet.

      Matthew 22:36-40King James Version (KJV)

36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
